Take advantage of Google Shopping and have your shop products visible in Google Search for less than £250.00

Bolton Web Design (BWD Group) now provides an e-commerce solution to all UK based companies who are seeking to increase product visibility online and to increase online sales. Google Merchant is a powerful free online solution which allows your products to be indexed and searched within both Google Search and Google Product Search.

I Already have a e-commerce website why should I use Google Shopping ?

If you sell online do your products appear on the first page in Google ? the answer is probably No as like in most sectors competition is tough and usually its the bigger companies that make the first couple of pages putting your online shop off the radar. Google recognize this problem so with Google Shopping they allow all online Merchants to advertise within their own “ shopping market “ the Google taxonomy is a product directory which sorts your products into the right category which allows online customers and Google to recognise what type of business sector you are and which items you sell.

How do you put our products into Google Shopping and what is required from us ?

If you operate an existing online shop using a popular e-commerce software solution then you might be able to export your products within a couple of minutes and upload them to Google. From September 2011 Google announced that the product rules must include specific data in the correct format otherwise your products would be rejected from product search.

If you sell less than 250 products and you have Microsoft Excel it is possible to save your spreadsheet in the correct .CSV format and upload the data straight into your own online product feed. The process is basic and can be done within a couple of minutes.

If you sell more than 250 products we would require you to export your products in a SQL , XML or CSV format which we can do from your web hosting company , our service would be to create a valid upload file to google merchant which is then valid for 30 days until you are required to re-upload the file again with price and product adjustments.

How much would it cost to see my products in Google Shopping ?

We currently charge £1 per product , if you have less than 250 products the minimum fee is £250.00 for the creation of the CSV file which then can be edited by yourself in excel if you wish to add or edit products. If you have thousands of products but can generate a export file this rate can be negotiated.

When a product is added to Google Shopping it is given an expiry date of 1 month (30 days) until the product has to be re-added. We can provide a monthly service at a negotiated price depending on the volume of products you have and if your website has the ability to export the correct data this fee will change.

For small shops we suggest using the original excel file we provide to update the feed manually as it is a simple process.

What if someone buys something and the price or data is wrong in the feed ?

The product feed includes a unique link to each product that you sell online , when a customer clicks on your item in google they are redirected to the item on your store , if the price changes on your store then this will be the price the customer will pay and not the price in your feed.

Google regulations state that all prices in the feed must include VAT if applicable and that all products have images , also that the products are not duplicated.

Bolton Web Design (BWD Group) is not responsible for items that are rejected from Google Shopping , we aim to insert 100% of items based on the data we receive from you. Google has strict policies on data integrity and validation so please be advised that all data must be genuine and legitimate.
